Dynasty 2026 - Is it time to give up on these guys?

Quarterbacks

Trey Lance - 21% rostered. Draft Capital may be the only thing keeping his value alive for the 1 in 5 leagues out there where he’s on a team. 5 years into his career and on his 3rd NFL team. He was drafted by the Niners as a raw prospect but doesn’t look like the raw stone will ever polish into a diamond. Even in SF leagues, there are other long shot options.

Kenny Pickett - 27% rostered. I’ll be honest, I thought Pickett would end up a nice NFL quarterback. That has not happened. He’s been on 3 teams & saw meaningful snaps with all of them but has never really looked like more than a backup. His career will likely be as a backup which means he will need an injury to have value, which isn’t worth holding. At this point he’s only a draft capital prayer. I don’t think it will get answered.

Running Backs

Dameon Pierce - 32% rostered. Pierce had a smash rookie season with 1104 yards & 5 TDs. Over the past 3 years he has barely 800 yards combined. So what happened? It doesn’t really matter. He was shuttled out of Houston this year landing with the RB weak Chiefs. He couldn’t make waves there either. It might be time to admit he was just a one hit wonder & look for another project to roster.

Will Shipley - 50% rostered. I get that it’s only year 2 but I think we’ve seen what Shipley is and it’s not enough for fantasy. In fact, the Eagles saw enough to make a trade to get Tank Bigsby as their RB2. Shipley now buried on the depth chart, I just don’t think the former 4th rd pick out of Clemson is going to be a thing.

Wide Receivers & Tight Ends

Dontayvion Wicks - 57% rostered.  3 years into his NFL career & the Packers wideout has yet to top 600 yards. There have been chances for him as the Green Bay Wr room has been anything but a model of health but he hasn’t capitalized, averaging just 25 ypg. He may have the occasional start worthy game but that’s not enough to hold a roster spot.

Greg Dortch - 39% rostered. I am baffled at his high roster percent. He’s a diminutive receiver that after 6 years has never had more than 467 yards receiving in a year. And that was 4 years ago.

Demario Douglas - 59% rostered. I like Pop a lot. He’s only 5’8 192 but plays tough. Unfortunately he’s a streaky player that doesn’t have elite upside. Playing with breakout QB Drake Maye helps but he’s failed to separate in a crowded WR room. He will have moments that give pause but ultimately his body of work says that he won’t be more than a 600 yard guy. And that’s simply not a guy you will ever trust in your lineup.

Treylon Burks - 31% rostered. I am baffled that this AJ Brown clone didn’t pan out. Coming out of college he looked truly dominant, which the Titans agreed when they traded away a more expensive AJB to take Burks in the 1st round. He did have one of the most insane catches of the year for a touchdown in Washington. But after 4 years it might be time to let go.

Darnell Washington - 47% rostered. Big O is an imposing figure. At 6’7” and nearly 300 pounds, he looks more like an offensive lineman than tight end. Unfortunately his pass catching skill set is closer to that of a tight end. When he makes a catch, he’s a load to bring down. It makes him fun to watch and hope what might be. Sadly he’s simply too limited as a pas catcher & lumbering as a runner to make a consistent fantasy impact.

Noah Grey - 38% rostered.  People have been holding out hope that the 5 year vet will be the heir apparent to Travis Kelce when he retires. But let’s face it, if there was true playmaking talent then Grey would see more targets.  That would have been especially evident this season where the Chiefs were in need of playmakers. He is on pace for less than 200 yards. If & when Kelce does retire, it won’t be Grey that takes over. Move on.
