Dark Horses - Week 8
Jets at Bengals
Tyrod Taylor - The assumption is that Tyrod will be under center for the strangely coy Aaron Glenn led Jets. The Bengals have been one of the more favorable pass defenses over the last month, giving up 273 ypg and 11 TDs to the QB position.
Bears at Ravens
Colston Loveland - The expectation is that we will see Lamar Jackson back under center which is good for the Ravens offense. However the defense is still suspect. Rookies often take a leap after the team’s bye and fellow TE Cole Kmet is out for Sunday which means more snaps & targets for Loveland.
Dolphins at Falcons
Tyler Allgeier - Miami is giving up a whopping 170 YPG to running backs this season. The Falcons backfield runs through Bijan Robinson but Allgeier gets a fair share of touches, especially when the team wins where he has scored in each of those games averaging 12 fantasy PPG.
Bills at Panthers
Xavier Legette - Last week Andy Dalton came in relief of the injured Bryce Young, going 4-7 for 60 yards. Guess who caught all 4 of Dalton’s passes? Guess who is starting at QB this week for the Panthers?
49ers at Texans
Dalton Schultz - The Texans will be without starting WRs Nico Collins and Christian Kirk. Their replacements are rookies so expect CJ Stroud to turn to the reliable veteran for production. Schultz should see double digit targets in this game.
Giants at Eagles
Jahan Dotson - Eagles lost badly to the Giants a few weeks back and looking to even the score. They will have to do it without AJ Brown who is out with a hamstring injury. That likely means more Saquon Barkley, Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert. However, Brown’s absence should afford Dotson more snaps and Giants are one of the most favorable defenses to opposing WRs this season.
Browns at Patriots
Harold Fannin - The Browns pass attack has been lackluster this season. Dillon Gabriel isn’t dynamic nor has a big arm. Expect more high percentage passes underneath to the tight end spot which bodes well for both David Njoku and the rookie Fannin, who is already averaging 6 targets a game.
Buccaneers at Saints
Tez Johnson - The Buccaneers are banged up which has given the 7th round rookie his shot. Tez has made the most of his opportunities, scoring in back to back games. He’s expected to maintain a high snap % and the Bucs offense is setup for a bounce back game in New Orleans.
Titans at Colts
Cam Ward - The Colts have been the biggest surprise of the season ranking #1 in PPG and #2 in YPG. The run defense has been quite sound but the team weakness has been the pass defenses, allowing 273 YPG and 2 passing TDs per game as well. That means Titans will have to pass to score in this one. Even garbage time touchdowns count in fantasy.
Cowboys at Broncos
Troy Franklin - Dallas ranks dead last in total defense and worst against the pass. Franklin is only averaging 3 receptions for 27 YPG over the last 5 contests but his snap share remains high. Expect a big game from the Denver pass attack on Sunday.
Packers at Steelers
Darnell Washington - I want someone to love me like Arthur Smith loves tight ends. Packers ranks second to last against the tight end this season. The only team worse is the Bengals who gave up 4 TE scores to Pittsburgh last week to 3 different tight ends. Odds are Pat Freiermuth or Jonnu Smith score which is why Big O is the dark horse.
Commanders at Chiefs
Tyquan Thornton - The Chiefs offense finally back to full strength last week and looked very dynamic. Thornton is a deep shot artist and Mahomes is one of the best deep shot passers in the game. Commanders secondary is vulnerable to the big play. Expect some shots to Tyquan on Monday night.
