The percentages say just ONE of these 5 will be a hit & not necessarily this year…
Rookie running backs drafted in rounds 4&5 have ~19% rate to crack top 25 at any point in their careers. This year, there were 5 RBs taken in these two rounds.
First up is Jonah Coleman who lands in Denver. Profiles as an early down runner as part of a tandem backfield behind the injury prone JK Dobbins
Next is Mike Washington. A big powerful downhill runner & athletic freak backing up Ashton Jeanty in Las Vegas in a run friendly Klint Kubiak system.
Emmett Johnson was the next back taken by the Kansas City Chiefs. Kenneth Walker is the lead runner but there is a clear path for Johnson to be the next man up.
3 picks later the Titans drafted Nicholas Singleton, a one cut runner with finishing speed. He sits behind Tony Pollard & Tajae Spears both on the last year of their contracts.
Last but not least, Adam Randle drafted by the Baltimore Ravens. Big imposing figure, Randle is a WR converted to RB with a play style that has shades of Derrick Henry, who is currently the starter in Baltimore.
Who do you think has the best chance? Let me know in the comments
